Parish Council Report

This is a busy time for the Parish Council. With the adoption of the Parish Pastoral Plan, we are now moving forward with work on the Objectives that support the Goals. We have identified the Objectives that will be pursued initially. This regular publication of Parish Council news in the parish bulletin and on the web page is one endeavor. Among the others are establishing a committee to recruit ushers and greeters for the Saturday and Sunday Masses, evaluating the potential implementation of a voluntary online directory of parish members, and planning an adult faith formation presentation for Advent (this had been implemented during Lent in the spring of this year).

In other news, Fr. Liam has reported on the status of the church roof project. Both the Parish Council and the Finance Committee have approved this project. This will be a bit of an inconvenience for us, but we will all benefit from the installation of the new roof and the related repairs.

The Parish Council will host the annual New Parishioners Brunch on November 11 after the 11:15 Mass. All parishioners who registered within the past two years will be invited. If you fall into this group, you should be alert for an invitation to arrive in the mail. This is a great opportunity for our new parishioners to meet members of the Parish Council and the Parish Staff.

The next Parish Council project will be reviewing and updating the Council bylaws, in particular, the provisions dealing with membership of the Council. We expect this to be completed by January, with any new procedures implemented in the spring.
