We acknowledge our celebration of the Eucharist as the source and summit of our faith. We are called to become what we receive at the Table of the Lord, that we might be the presence of Christ to one another and to our world. We are committed to providing an environment that invites the full and active participation of the entire community through Christ-centered worship, inspiring music, relevant homilies and active liturgical ministries.
This group of volunteers is involved in ongoing liturgical education and preparation of seasonal liturgy. Members meet monthly, and part of every meeting is devoted to education.
This is a wonderful group of parishioners who plan and prepare the church environment for the Christmas and Easter seasons.
Altar Servers: Parishioners who have received the Sacraments of Initiation and who are called upon to assist the presider at liturgy.
Altar Society: Members in the altar society take care of the altar linens and albs.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: These men and women assist in the distribution of Holy Communion in the Parish Church, in the homes of parishioners and at Bryn Mawr Hospital. This is a three-year commitment.
Funeral Altar Servers: These men and women, who are usually free during the day, assist the presider at a funeral liturgy.
Lectors: Parishioners who proclaim the Word of God on a regularly scheduled basis at Mass.
Ministers of Hospitality: These ministers greet all those who attend the various liturgical functions.
Ministers of the Liturgy of the Word For Children: At specified Masses, children ages 5 through 12 are invited to join a trained minister in the Daily Chapel before the Liturgy of the Word begins. The minister is specially trained to provide children with a simpler understanding of the Liturgy of the Word. This is done through storytelling, drama, song and discussion, and is conducted in a liturgical manner. Children then return to the congregation for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Ushers: Parishioners who welcome the community, assist with seating and direct the flow of the congregation during Eucharist.
